REPORT ON COMMEMORATION OF LOKMANYA BAL GANGADHAR TILAK
On 1st August 24, Shri Dadasaheb Dhanwatey Nagar Vidyalaya & Jr. College solemnly commemorated the death anniversary of the great freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The program commenced with a garlanding of Tilak's portrait by the Principal Mrs Madhuri Yawalkar and Highschool Incharge Mrs Kirti Balki Ma'am. This was followed by speech by Ishwari Gadole of class 9th B who highlighted Tilak's pivotal role in independence movement and his philosophy of "Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it". Further, to commemorate the occasion the school organized the competition featuring self composed poems by the students. Before the competition, Highschool Incharge Mrs.Kirti Balki motivated and appreciated the students
and gave best wishes for their efforts. The poetry competition was judged by Mrs Poonam Mozarkar. She praised the students for their heartfelt renditions also, she announced the names of the winners. The Principal Mrs M. Yawalkar alongwith the Highschool Incharge Mrs K. Balki Ma'am awarded the prizes. The first prize was bagged by Samiksha Indulkar of class XD. The second and third prize was awarded to Simran Gabhiy of class IXA and Swaransha Tagde of class XD respectively. The Principal Mrs M.Yawalkar addressed the gathering. She applauded the students for their active participation and lauded the teachers endeavors.
The entire program was skilfully compered by Aarju Sahare of class XB & She proposed vote of thanks by expressing her gratitude to the principal for gracing the occasion and Incharge Mrs K.Balki for her support and guidance, the teachers for their efforts in organizing the program specially to Mrs R K. Sethi and Mrs H K. Sandhu, Mr.Gomase and to the students for their active participation.
